These octopuses are hand sculpted from pearly polymer clay and coated in shimmering pigments of various pastel shades such as blush pink and lavender. The sculptures sit in a stoneware dish filled with substrate, three Swarovski crystals, seashells, silver colored chain, color-shift fabric and faux pearls.
The eyes of the octopuses are made from opalite cabochons with painted on pupils. The whole piece is coated in resin which acts like a glue and a high gloss varnish at the same time, securing everything in place. The fabric is partially hardened with resin.
